Small group
Every student gets individual attention
Small-group Primary Math classes where every child gets individual attention — and the skills to show it in exams.
Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) and Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary) are two schools located on Dover Road, Singapore. Founded in 1888 as the Telok Ayer Girls School, they are among the oldest primary and secondary schools in Singapore. DeepThink's Primary Math programme is designed to support Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) students from P1 through P6.
Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) and Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary) are two schools located on Dover Road, Singapore. Founded in 1888 as the Telok Ayer Girls School, they are among the oldest primary and secondary schools in Singapore. Their current premises are at the neighbourhood of Dover in Queenstown, Central Singapore.
Lessons follow the MOE Primary Math syllabus exactly — the same topics, heuristics, and model-drawing methods your child uses at Fairfield Methodist School (Primary)
Small group classes so your child can ask questions, get feedback, and is never lost in the crowd
From P5 onwards, every class is structured around PSLE technique — not just content, but how to show working clearly and pick up method marks
Parents are kept in the loop on what was covered and where their child needs more practice — so you're never in the dark between sessions
Each weekly session builds directly on the last. Your child works through new concepts, revisits gaps, and practises exam-style questions — in a group small enough that the teacher actually knows them.
Every student gets individual attention
Yes. All Singapore primary schools follow the MOE Primary Math syllabus, and our P1–P6 classes are built around that curriculum — the same topics, the same model-drawing and heuristics approach, and the same exam format your child sits at Fairfield Methodist School (Primary).
Parents are kept informed on what was covered and where their child should focus. We also flag any persistent gaps as soon as we spot them — not just before exams.
There's no single right answer, but earlier is generally better. Gaps in foundational topics like fractions and ratios compound as children move through primary school. A free trial class is a good way to find out where your child actually stands.
Small group classes, parents kept in the loop on progress, and a curriculum focused on the exact skills MOE examiners test — including how to structure solutions, not just whether the answer is correct.
Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) traces its origins to 1888, when Methodist missionary Sophia Blackmore started Telok Ayer Girls' School with a small group of eight Nonya students in a shophouse on Cross Street. Over the decades the school relocated to Telok Ayer Street, was renamed Fairfield Methodist Girls' School in 1925, and transitioned to co-education in 2000. It adopted its present name in 2009.
Today the school operates as a single-session, co-educational government-aided primary school. It shares a 10-hectare Dover Road campus with Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary), its affiliated secondary school. The school's guiding values are Faith, Excellence, and Service, and its educational approach centres on bilingualism, character formation, and student-centred pedagogy such as inquiry-based learning. Two signature programmes shape the school experience: the Applied Learning Programme in Languages, known as the Fairfield wRiters, Reporters, and Ambassadors Programme (FR2AP), which develops communication skills across all levels; and the Learning for Life Programme HeARTS, which uses music, the performing arts, and the visual arts to nurture empathy and social awareness. As an MOE-affiliated school, graduating students benefit from priority consideration for placement at Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary).
Primary 1 registration follows the Ministry of Education's annual P1 Registration Exercise, which is conducted online between July and August each year. Places are allocated across several phases based on the applicant's connection to the school:
- Phase 1: Children with a sibling currently enrolled at the school.
- Phase 2A: Children of alumni who are members of the school's alumni association, children of staff members, and children whose parents are members of the church or an associated Methodist body.
- Phase 2B: Children whose parents have volunteered at the school for at least 40 hours, children whose parents are endorsed members of the church directly connected to the school, and children from the community.
- Phase 2C and 2C Supplementary: Open registration for any eligible child who has not secured a place in earlier phases.
Singapore Citizens receive priority over Permanent Residents in every phase. When applications in a given phase exceed available places, balloting is conducted with priority given to families living within 1 km of the school, then within 1 to 2 km, then beyond 2 km. Required documents and updated vacancy information are published on the MOE website ahead of each registration cycle.
The school follows the MOE primary curriculum, covering English Language, Mathematics, Science (from Primary 3), Mother Tongue Languages (Chinese, Malay, or Tamil), Social Studies, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Higher Mother Tongue and Foundation-level courses are available depending on student readiness.
Mathematics instruction runs from Primary 1 to Primary 6 and incorporates hands-on activities and real-world problem contexts designed to build logical reasoning and number sense progressively. The school has received the MOE Best Practice Award for Teaching and Learning, and its students have performed well in national mathematics competitions and STEM-related challenges.
The FR2AP Applied Learning Programme integrates oracy, writing, and reporting across all year levels, giving students regular opportunities to communicate in authentic settings. The campus includes air-conditioned classrooms fitted with interactive smart boards, a library with a Makerspace area for design thinking activities, science and computer laboratories, and a performing arts studio that seats approximately 320 people. CCA selections can be changed during a trial window in Term 4 each year.

School life at Fairfield Methodist is shaped by its Methodist heritage and a values-driven approach to character development. Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) lessons, the Form Teacher Guidance Period (FTGP), and the Growing Years Series address social-emotional learning across all levels. Values-in-Action projects give students regular opportunities to contribute to the wider community.
The school day runs from approximately 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM under the single-session format. The school uniform, purchased from the approved vendor Yangtze Kiang Tailor, must be worn during all school activities, and grooming standards are maintained in line with school policy.
Parent involvement is facilitated through a Parent Support Group, volunteering opportunities, and events such as Meet-the-Parents sessions and arts showcases. The school communicates regularly with families through its NewsLink newsletter.
