Small group
Every student gets individual attention
Small-group Primary Math classes where every child gets individual attention — and the skills to show it in exams.
The school's mission is to nurture loyal individuals with strength of character and a determination to succeed in the spirit of lifelong learning. DeepThink's Primary Math programme is designed to support Fengshan Primary School students from P1 through P6.
Lessons follow the MOE Primary Math syllabus exactly — the same topics, heuristics, and model-drawing methods your child uses at Fengshan Primary School
Small group classes so your child can ask questions, get feedback, and is never lost in the crowd
From P5 onwards, every class is structured around PSLE technique — not just content, but how to show working clearly and pick up method marks
Parents are kept in the loop on what was covered and where their child needs more practice — so you're never in the dark between sessions
Each weekly session builds directly on the last. Your child works through new concepts, revisits gaps, and practises exam-style questions — in a group small enough that the teacher actually knows them.
Every student gets individual attention
Yes. All Singapore primary schools follow the MOE Primary Math syllabus, and our P1–P6 classes are built around that curriculum — the same topics, the same model-drawing and heuristics approach, and the same exam format your child sits at Fengshan Primary School.
Parents are kept informed on what was covered and where their child should focus. We also flag any persistent gaps as soon as we spot them — not just before exams.
There's no single right answer, but earlier is generally better. Gaps in foundational topics like fractions and ratios compound as children move through primary school. A free trial class is a good way to find out where your child actually stands.
Small group classes, parents kept in the loop on progress, and a curriculum focused on the exact skills MOE examiners test — including how to structure solutions, not just whether the answer is correct.
Fengshan Primary School is a government co-educational primary school located in Bedok, Singapore. The school traces its roots to 1933, when it was originally known as Hong San Primary School, established with funding from the Hong San Temple Association. After operating in Lorong Tai Seng for several decades, the school relocated to its present Bedok campus during the 1980s. On 2 January 2001, a merger of predecessor institutions gave rise to the current Fengshan Primary School, with its official opening held on 2 February 2002.
The school operates on a single-session schedule and serves a large student population of over 2,600 pupils. Its guiding belief is that every child possesses a unique talent, and the school works to develop each student through approaches that emphasise inquiry-based learning and bilingual education. Two signature programmes define its identity: the Applied Learning Programme (ALP) in Sustainability, which engages students in interdisciplinary environmental projects, and the Learning for Life Programme (LLP) in Sports and Outdoor Education, which develops leadership and resilience through physical activity. While Fengshan is not a Special Assistance Plan (SAP) school, it offers Higher Mother Tongue options in Chinese, Malay, and Tamil.
Admission to Primary 1 at Fengshan Primary School follows the annual MOE Primary 1 Registration Exercise, which is conducted online across several phases. Phase 1 is reserved for children with siblings already attending the school. Phase 2A covers children whose parents are alumni of the school or are staff members, as well as children from affiliated kindergartens. Phase 2B is open to children whose parents have served as parent volunteers or are endorsed by community or religious organisations connected to the school. Phase 2C is the open category available to all Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident children who have not secured a place in earlier phases.
When applications in any phase exceed available places, balloting is conducted. Priority during balloting is determined by home-to-school distance, grouped into three bands: within 1 km, between 1 km and 2 km, and beyond 2 km. Parents should prepare documents such as the child's birth certificate and proof of residential address. Detailed timelines and vacancy information are published each year on the MOE Primary 1 registration portal.
Fengshan Primary School follows the MOE national curriculum, covering English Language, Mathematics, Science (from Primary 3), and Mother Tongue Languages. Foundation-level options are available for students who benefit from a different pace of instruction in selected subjects. The school places emphasis on conceptual understanding in Mathematics and problem-solving skills, preparing students thoroughly for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE).
The ALP in Sustainability integrates elements from science, mathematics, and the humanities, with students undertaking projects that involve data collection, analysis, and environmental stewardship. Students have also participated in competitions such as the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO), developing higher-order thinking beyond the standard syllabus. The school has received Environmental Merit Awards recognising the interdisciplinary quality of its sustainability work.
For families seeking additional support in Mathematics, DeepThink is a math tuition centre that offers structured programmes aligned to the primary school syllabus, helping students build confidence and fluency in core mathematical concepts.
The Fengshan Primary campus includes an Indoor Sports Hall, science laboratories, smart classrooms with interactive technology, and a library with bilingual resources. Outdoor learning areas near Bedok Reservoir provide space for nature-based educational activities. The school is barrier-free and has facilities to support students with special educational needs.
Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) are offered from Primary 3 onwards and span four categories. Sports include Basketball (Boys), Netball (Girls), Football (Boys), Wushu, and Health and Fitness. Uniformed groups comprise the Boys' Brigade, Red Cross Youth, Scouts, and Girl Guides. Performing arts options include Choir, Concert Band, Chinese Dance, Indian Dance, and Malay Dance. Clubs and societies cover Art and Crafts, Environmental Science, and Student Leadership (Prefects). These activities develop teamwork, discipline, and character alongside the academic programme.
Fengshan Primary School's values centre on caring for oneself and others, honesty in speech and action, and appreciation for the people and environment around each student. The school's mission is to nurture individuals with strength of character and a determination to succeed through lifelong learning.
New Primary 1 students are supported through the P1 TRANSIT programme, which addresses social and behavioural needs during the transition to primary school. Staggered and earlier dismissal times during Term 1 help younger pupils adjust at a comfortable pace. After-school care is available through a student care centre partnered with the school, offering supervised activities and homework support for families who need extended care.
Parents can participate in school life through the School Advisory Committee and Parent Support Group, contributing to events, volunteering, and building partnerships between home and school.
