Small group
Every student gets individual attention
Small-group Primary Math classes where every child gets individual attention — and the skills to show it in exams.
The school was founded in 2008. DeepThink's Primary Math programme is designed to support Innova Primary School students from P1 through P6.
Lessons follow the MOE Primary Math syllabus exactly — the same topics, heuristics, and model-drawing methods your child uses at Innova Primary School
Small group classes so your child can ask questions, get feedback, and is never lost in the crowd
From P5 onwards, every class is structured around PSLE technique — not just content, but how to show working clearly and pick up method marks
Parents are kept in the loop on what was covered and where their child needs more practice — so you're never in the dark between sessions
Each weekly session builds directly on the last. Your child works through new concepts, revisits gaps, and practises exam-style questions — in a group small enough that the teacher actually knows them.
Every student gets individual attention
Yes. All Singapore primary schools follow the MOE Primary Math syllabus, and our P1–P6 classes are built around that curriculum — the same topics, the same model-drawing and heuristics approach, and the same exam format your child sits at Innova Primary School.
Parents are kept informed on what was covered and where their child should focus. We also flag any persistent gaps as soon as we spot them — not just before exams.
There's no single right answer, but earlier is generally better. Gaps in foundational topics like fractions and ratios compound as children move through primary school. A free trial class is a good way to find out where your child actually stands.
Small group classes, parents kept in the loop on progress, and a curriculum focused on the exact skills MOE examiners test — including how to structure solutions, not just whether the answer is correct.
Innova Primary School opened its doors in 2008, situated at 80 Woodlands Drive 17 in Singapore's northern Woodlands estate. It is a government co-educational primary school operating on a single-session schedule, serving students from Primary 1 through Primary 6.
The school is guided by its vision of nurturing every student — referred to as an "Innovian" — into a champion of character, change, and citizenry. Its educational approach centres on developing the whole child through strong academic grounding, values formation, and hands-on learning experiences.
Innova holds two MOE-designated signature programmes. The Applied Learning Programme (ALP) focuses on Creative Problem Solving (CPS@IPS), an interdisciplinary initiative that uses inquiry-based methods and technology to help students work through authentic, real-world problems. The Learning for Life Programme (LLP), titled "Leading Through Serving," develops student leadership through meaningful community service. Mother tongue languages offered include Chinese, Malay, and Tamil, supporting the bilingual education policy at all levels.
Enrolment at Innova Primary School follows the Ministry of Education's annual Primary 1 registration exercise, which is conducted online across several phases.
Phase 1 is reserved for children who have a sibling already studying at the school. Phase 2A covers children whose parents are former students of the school, are members of the school's advisory or management committee, or are staff members. Phase 2B is open to children whose parents have volunteered at the school or who have an active community or church connection recognised by the school. Phase 2C is for all other Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident children who do not qualify under earlier phases.
When the number of applicants in any phase exceeds available places, balloting is carried out. Priority during balloting is determined by home-to-school distance, with three bands: within 1 km, between 1 km and 2 km, and beyond 2 km. Singapore Citizens receive priority over Permanent Residents within each distance band.
Parents should refer to the MOE website for the latest registration dates, required documents, and vacancy information for each phase.
Innova Primary School follows the national curriculum set by the Ministry of Education, covering English Language, Mathematics, Science (from Primary 3), and mother tongue languages. Students may take foundation or standard levels in these subjects at the upper primary stage, depending on their individual strengths.
The school's ALP in Creative Problem Solving integrates elements from multiple disciplines and encourages students to apply mathematical reasoning, scientific inquiry, and design thinking to practical challenges. This programme runs across all levels and is woven into regular lessons rather than existing as a standalone enrichment track.
In Mathematics, Innova places emphasis on conceptual understanding and problem-solving strategies from the lower primary years onward. The school has received the Vanda Miss Joaquim Sustained Achievement Award (2021) for sustained quality in science education, which reflects a broader institutional focus on STEM subjects. Students have also performed well in external competitions, including placing 4th and 14th at the 2024 Primary National Public Speaking Competition.
For families looking for additional support in Mathematics beyond school hours, DeepThink is a math tuition centre that offers structured programmes aligned with the MOE primary syllabus, including preparation for the PSLE Mathematics paper.
Innova Primary School's campus includes standard government primary school facilities such as classrooms, a school library, science laboratories, computer rooms, a multi-purpose hall, and outdoor play and learning areas.
Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) are offered across four categories. In sports, students can participate in Track and Field, Table Tennis, Wushu, or Volleyball. Uniformed groups include Red Cross Youth and Girl Guides (Brownies). Performing arts options comprise Choir, Harmonica Ensemble, Chinese Dance, and Malay Dance. Clubs and societies available are Art and Crafts, English Drama and Debating, and Environmental Science.
The school also runs periodic STEM-related activities. In 2025, students took part in a STEM Playground Challenge that involved designing and building model helicopters using simple materials, combining principles of engineering and mathematical reasoning.
CCAs at Innova are linked to the school's LLP in community service, so students are regularly involved in service-learning projects as part of their CCA experience.
Innova Primary School cultivates a school culture built around its core commitment to developing students as champions of character, change, and citizenry. Values education is integrated into daily school life rather than treated as a separate programme.
The LLP, "Leading Through Serving," is central to student life at Innova. Through this programme, students participate in community outreach and service projects at every level, building empathy and a sense of social responsibility. These activities complement classroom learning and give students opportunities to apply leadership skills in authentic settings.
The school received the People's Association Community Spirit Merit Award in 2022, recognising its sustained efforts in community engagement. This award reflects the school's emphasis on connecting students with the wider Woodlands neighbourhood.
As a single-session school, Innova provides a consistent daily routine for all students, which allows for structured time for both academics and co-curricular involvement within the school day.
Is Innova Primary School a good primary school?
Innova Primary School is a government co-educational school that focuses on holistic development through its Applied Learning Programme in Creative Problem Solving and its Learning for Life Programme in community leadership. It follows the standard MOE curriculum and prepares students for the PSLE. Parents considering the school should visit during open house events to see whether its programmes and environment suit their child.
Is Innova Primary School co-educational?
Yes. Innova Primary School admits both boys and girls from Primary 1 to Primary 6. It operates on a single-session basis.
How does Primary 1 registration work at Innova Primary School?
Registration follows MOE's phased system: Phase 1 for siblings of current students, Phase 2A for children of alumni or staff, Phase 2B for children of parent volunteers or those with community affiliations, and Phase 2C for all remaining eligible applicants. Balloting is conducted if demand exceeds places in any phase, with home-to-school distance used as the tiebreaker.
What mother tongue languages does Innova Primary School offer?
The school offers Chinese Language, Malay Language, and Tamil Language. Higher mother tongue options are available for students who qualify, and foundation-level mother tongue is offered for students who need additional support.
What CCAs are available at Innova Primary School?
