How DeepThink supports Radin Mas Primary School students

  • Lessons follow the MOE Primary Math syllabus exactly — the same topics, heuristics, and model-drawing methods your child uses at Radin Mas Primary School

  • Small group classes so your child can ask questions, get feedback, and is never lost in the crowd

  • From P5 onwards, every class is structured around PSLE technique — not just content, but how to show working clearly and pick up method marks

  • Parents are kept in the loop on what was covered and where their child needs more practice — so you're never in the dark between sessions

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers for parents

Does DeepThink follow the same syllabus my child is on at Radin Mas Primary School?

Yes. All Singapore primary schools follow the MOE Primary Math syllabus, and our P1–P6 classes are built around that curriculum — the same topics, the same model-drawing and heuristics approach, and the same exam format your child sits at Radin Mas Primary School.

How will I know if my child is making progress?

Parents are kept informed on what was covered and where their child should focus. We also flag any persistent gaps as soon as we spot them — not just before exams.

When should my child start tuition?

There's no single right answer, but earlier is generally better. Gaps in foundational topics like fractions and ratios compound as children move through primary school. A free trial class is a good way to find out where your child actually stands.

What makes DeepThink different from other math tuition centres?

Small group classes, parents kept in the loop on progress, and a curriculum focused on the exact skills MOE examiners test — including how to structure solutions, not just whether the answer is correct.

School Overview

Radin Mas Primary School traces its origins to 1926, when it opened as an all-boys English-medium school in Kampong Radin Mas with an initial enrolment of 40 pupils. Growing demand through the 1950s prompted the addition of an annexe building. In 1984, the school transitioned to co-education and moved to its present location at 1 Bukit Purmei Avenue. The school marked its 95th anniversary in 2021 and operates under the motto "A school where all work hard, play hard, and make a mark."

As a single-session government primary school (school code 1072), Radin Mas follows the Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum framework. It offers Higher Mother Tongue options in Chinese, Malay, and Tamil. The school's Applied Learning Programme (ALP) centres on STEM, with a specific focus on Game Design and Making combined with Computational Thinking and Design Thinking. The Learning for Life Programme (LLP) is built around Sports and Outdoor Education, framed by the school's G.R.I.T. values — Growth Mindset, Resilience, Independence, and Teamwork. Radin Mas does not hold Special Assistance Programme (SAP) status.

Notable alumni include Dr Tan Cheng Bock, founder of the Progress Singapore Party, and Tuan Haji Othman Wok, a respected community leader. The school has received recognition including a spot in the 2010 MOE Masterplan of Awards for overall excellence, and staff nominations for the 2025 Distinguished Chinese Language Teachers Awards and LEAP Award. Mdm Wong Bing Sum was honoured in 2020 for outstanding contributions to teaching.

Admission Process

Primary 1 registration at Radin Mas Primary School follows MOE's annual P1 Registration Exercise, which runs from July to August each year. The process is conducted online through the MOE registration portal and proceeds in phases:

- Phase 1: Children with a sibling currently enrolled at the school.

- Phase 2A: Children whose parents are alumni, staff members, or parent volunteers.

- Phase 2B: Children with connections through community leaders or whose parents are endorsed by the school's advisory committee.

- Phase 2C: Open to all eligible Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident children who have not secured a place in earlier phases.

For the 2026 intake, eligible children must have been born between 2 January 2019 and 1 January 2020. If the number of applications in any phase exceeds available vacancies, places are allocated by balloting, with priority given based on home-to-school distance — within 1 km, between 1 km and 2 km, and beyond 2 km. Singapore Citizens receive priority over Permanent Residents within each distance band. Parents can check past vacancy and balloting data through the MOE website.

Curriculum and Academic Programme

Radin Mas Primary School delivers the standard MOE primary curriculum from P1 to P6, covering English Language, Mathematics, Science (from P3), Mother Tongue Languages, Social Studies, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Foundation-level options are available in English and Mathematics for students who benefit from additional support. Mother Tongue subjects include Chinese, Malay, and Tamil at both standard and Higher levels.

The school's mathematics programme, known as "Math Alive," uses manipulatives, digital tools, and group-based activities to help students apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. This approach is designed to develop logical reasoning alongside procedural skills. The STEM-focused ALP extends this further by introducing students to game design, coding, and computational thinking across all year levels.

In 2009, the school's top PSLE scorer achieved a score of 273. The school supports students with mild special educational needs through dedicated Special Educational Needs Officers and the P1 TRANSIT programme for social and behavioural development.

Families seeking additional mathematics support outside school hours may consider DeepThink, a math tuition centre that offers structured programmes aligned to the primary Mathematics syllabus.
